Door prize I picked

So next up is the door prize that I picked.  My friend Pattie, whom also organizes this weekend did a wonderful job on this and let me tell you I really took my time to decide because there was such wonderful stuff.  These girls are all so talented and all deserve credit for that however this post is about Ms. Pattie and her great job.

She put together this wonderful and awesome creation.  It is a faux coffe tote using My Timless Template.  It is filled w/all kinds of goodies from SU and her local craft store.  Along w/some snacks.  She used the Morning Cup stamp set and included the template so I can make one of my one.  That was actually my final deciding factor - being able to make one of my one.  Awesome job Pattie, Thank you very much.

3D Swap

We also had the option of doing a 3D swap for the mingle. My focus here was not the note book but I needed to add that for my project which was the book mark to demonstrate how it works. I made these in two color combos.  The first was black, red, and white while the other was pink, brown, and white.  For my book mark I found a large button I liked at my local craft store and started by putting my ribbon through the button and sewing it by hand to hold it in place, I then wrapped my ribbon to my desired length, cut it and fold it around a rubber band and sewed it again by hand to make the book mark.  On my hearts, and letters I used glitter paper cutting them out the shapes I wanted.  The MM stands for two things that I do w/these awesome girls.....Michigan Mingle and Memories Manor.  I will be sharing Memories Manor with you in May after we go - a much smaller group of us go there but we still have just as much fun.

Tri-fold

This was my other swap for the Mingle.  This was was a SU Only swap.  The rules were: SU! ONLY FULL CARD SWAP

This should be a full card with ONLY current SU! products used on it. Showcase your best work!

I did not create the design of this card, I honestly am not sure who did however my upline showed me how to put it all together and I picked out my own stampsets to use with it.

I used Baja breeze, Always artichoke, Vanilla and Springtime Vintage Dsp for m papers, and then baja breeze, and artichoke for my inks.  When you open this there is a piece of vanill on the inside of the artichoke piece to write what you like or sign it.  This is also the card I included with my door prize give away.

SCS Challenge

This was one of the cards I made for the anything goes swap, the rules were:

Anything Goes FULL CARD SWAP

This should be a full card. You may use any stamps, paper, etc. Do your best work!

I also used this for SC320 sketch challenge also.
I used basic black as my base, cherry cobbler, and print patterns dsp.  My embossing is with an embossing folder from my local craft store (my anything) and th rest is all SU! products.  I do have a couple things on dimensionals which is hard to see in the picture but I do love this card.  I also stamped with cherry cobbler ink on the one piece using Vintage Vogue stamp set. and to finish it off I placed my rhinestones....I love using those.

Name Tag

So also for our mingle we had an option to join in on the name tag contest.  The rules for your nametag were:  No larger than 4" x 4"

Must have your SCS screen name

Must have Your Real Name

Include your favorite food or restaurant

Colors, embellishments, etc should be inspired by your favorite food/restaurant

Soooo I had a hard time deciding because I have several places that I love to go but this came the easiest to me when I started thinking about all my favorites and how I could make something that reflected them.  I only wish I had taken some pictures of my girls names for you because they did some wonderful jobs as well.

Door prize

Ok so I was debating on where to start my bonus week, so I decided to start you in order of how these things came to be.  I spend a weekend each year with a great group of girls that I met on Split Coast Stampers.  We are all from different parts of Michigan, and there have been anywhere from 50-75 girls that meet up for the past several years.  There are also apx 20 or so of us who meet up a few times throughout the year for a day together or lunch/dinner together.  With all that being said, the girls who organize the big once a year weekend put alot of hard work into making it a successful weekend.  Thank you Pattie, Tracy and Lorien for the wonderful job that you do.

This first item is what I created as my door prize for the weekend, whoever would like to pick a door prize brings a door prize.  The theme this year was food for most of our challenges, cards, etc.  For my door prize I found this large wine glass and used the decor elements sheets, and my cricut to cut out the design.  I placed some items from my local craft store, along w/a card and some candy inside.  My friend Dawn Marie picked my prize....let me tell you everyone did such a wonderful job that it was a very hard choice when it was your turn to pick.  Thank you Dawn Marie for choosing mine.
I definately can not speak enough about all of these girls I have met and made friendships with.  I am a little closer to some than others but I absolutely LOVE them all and would be lost w/out them each day to talk to.  I feel so honored to have such wonderful friends.

Bonus Blogging

Starting next monday for a couple weeks we are going to have a bonus blogging.  What do I mean by bonus blogging....well, let me tell you.  My goal when I started my blog was to blog more and more but last year seemed to be less.  This year, I have put one blog each week so far and done well with that however my posts are in no particular order soooo I made the decision to post each day until I can get current for you so you don't have my christmas pictures in July or my Mingle weekend from March in September, etc.  I hope after that to move myself up to at least two posts a week for you so it will be all current stuff and fresh projects instead of a month or so old.  Thanks for hanging with me.

Surprise birthday card

Another card front that I recieved and turned into a card.  My friend Maureen was taking up a collection of man cards to send to her brother or brother-in-law (can't remember which right now) so she could surprise him on his birthday.  He is over seas and was not able to see his family for awhile.  I hope that he enjoyed his surprise from her.  This card looks like it was made with the circle from Artistic Etchings stamp set, great job to the gal I recieved it from.  Thank you much.
I stamped this circle and scallop to put on the inside. My stamps are from Cheers to you stamp set using the wine glasses and the saying.

Friend - Valentine defined

I made this card as a swap for one of my upline meetings.  I used the Framed tulips embossing folder.  My other colors are gray and pretty in pink.  Both my punched hearts are on dimensionals.  I also used the real red for the word friend which is defined under valentine from the Valentine Defined stamp set and punched that out putting it on a piece of dimensional.

Friend bucket

Ok so better late than not at all but here are some buckets I made as a swap for our Snowflake social - it is a gathering in January where we swap a $5-$10 3D gift, hangout and eat.  I used rub-ons on the outside of both buckets but only swapped one at the social.  I am saving the other for another occasion.

The inside of both buckets have four 6x6 diaper folded dsp filled w/2-3 mini hersey candy bars each.

I added some ribbon to the top of this one to finish it off.  It was an easy, simple and cute project that was thrown together in about a half hours time.
