Scrapbook Page ~ Purse

Supplies Needed:

• 1 ~ 12x12 sheet of cardstock
• 1 ~ 4x4 sheet of cardstock (same as 12x12)
• 14 ~ 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 pieces of DSP
• 2 ~ 12" pieces of ribbon
• 1 ~ Velcro dot
• Sticky strip
• Crop-a-dile
• Cutter, score tool, ruler, pencil, embellishments
  

1. Score your 12x12 sheet of paper at 4" and 8" then turn 90 degrees and score again at 4" and 8". When completed you should have 9 squares 4x4.
   
2. Score your four outside corners from the outside edge of that individual square to the other corner of that individual square (so it will be from the outside in).
   
3. On two middle squares opposite from each other you will score that individual square from the 2" point to the inside corner of the individual square so when finished it will look like <> on the other side.


4. Fold all your score lines to loosen your paper up. Then set aside for a few.
   
5. Take four of your 3 3/4 x3 3/4 pieces of DSP and cut them from one corner to the other so you have triangles when you are done and place them on the four outside individual corners of your 12x12 scored piece of paper.
   
6. Take four of your 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 pieces of DSP and cut them from the 1 7/8 mark to the corners on each one to make your <> pieces and attach just the triangle part of them to your 12x12 piece of paper on both the inside and outside.
   
7. Take three of your 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 pieces and place them down the center of your 12x12 scored paper on the same side as your corners/centers already done.


8. Take two of your 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 pieces and put them on the outside top/bottom center.
   
9. Take your last 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece and attach it to your lid. Then score your lid in half at the 2" mark. Fold it in half and punch your holes for your ribbon.


10. Attach your ribbon side to side. So one handle is on each side of the scored line, you don't want them to go over the scored lines being from front to back or it won't open right.


11. Using sticky strip, attach your lid to your 12x12 piece on the outside leaving approx. a 1/4 between the fold and the top of your 12x12 paper. This leaves some room for it to fold up properly.


12. Fold your scrapbook page into a purse and attach your velcro dot in place to hold it shut.


13. Embellish it any way desired and your done.

Scrapbook/Purse Tutorial to follow

Hello.....I am finally able to share a tutorial with you for the scrapbook/purse that I learned to make last year from one of my sidelines Laura, and unfortunately I have no idea where she got it from but if I find out then I will give that person credit also. It took me a little while to get the directions written up for you all but I also needed to wait until after our Michigan Mingler since we were sworn to not say what we were demoing. Cupcake thank you

I just tonight found out who created the cupcake box and wanted to give Donna Howe a thank you. She created this wonderful project and shared it with her upline Elaine who created a tutorial that my upline Mary was able to use to show us how to create this awesome project. I had created my own directions/tutorial for you all and then found all this out. I believe the right people need credit and I wanted to say a big huge THANK YOU to all of them.

Cupcake box

I learned to make this cute little cupcake box from my upline...she does some wonderful demos for us. I am glad to share it with you and directions on how to make it. There was a cupcake inside but my daughter ate it before I could get my pictures taken. I used the colors Pretty in Pink, Curry, and Garden Green on my sample. The stamp sets are Friends 24-7 and Baroque Motifs.
To make the box, you start with a 12x12 sheet of cardstock and score it at 4 inches on each of the four sides. Then stamp your cardstock as desired. Next use your circle scissors and cut a 2 1/8 inch circle in one of the sides for the window and place a window sheet on it. On two of your sides, across from each other cut a slit like you would for any other box and then assemble the box like you would for any other box.

There is an insert to hold your cupcake with, to creat this insert use a 6 1/2x6 1/2 piece of cardstock and score it at 1 1/4 on each of the four sides. Use your circle scissors and cut a 2 1/8 circle in the center piece (center it as best you can so your cupcake won't touch the sides). On two of your sides, across from each other cut a slit like you would for any other box and assemble like you would for any other box.
To make your lid use a 6 5/8x6 5/8 piece of cardstock and score it at 1 1/4 on each of the four sides. Scallop the edges and stamp as desired. On two of your sides, across from each other cut a slit like you would for any other box and assemle like you would for any other box.

The beautiful flower is made from the ornament punch...whoever came up with this idea is just awesome because it turns out cute as heck. You need to punch out 5 for the flower (mine are the pretty in pink) and 3 for the leaves (mine are garden green). After punching them out sponge around the edges of each w/the same color ink to give the flower petals and leaves more depth. Score them in half down the middle and fold upwards. Then using the barrel of a marker roll each side downwards so it looks curved like a flower. To assemble the flower punch out a 1 inch circle and attach the leaves on the bottom side of it and the flower leaves on the top side of it evenly spaced around the circle (it is easy to line up if you draw some lines on the circle first to make 5 small triangles.) Then place a 1 inch circle on top (mine is pretty in pink) then using your boho punch and using dimensionals between each layer put a boho flower (mine is curry), then a 3/4 inch circle (mine is pretty in pink) and add another boho flower (again mine is curry). To attach it to your box use dimensionals. I would love to see what you all come up with if you want to post a comment with a link to your pretty project when you are done trying it out. Christmas book

This cute little book is something I made as a Christmas swap for my upline/sideline party this last Christmas. I seen it in our big catalog and thought it was cute so wanted to try and make one. I did stamp the first couple of pages inside w/the sleigh also.

Feb. 2010, My first but not last post of the year

I have not posted much like I have intended to do but my goal is to get better at it soon so please just bear with me. I do have a couple posts today for you all and will have a few more tomorrow and soon a tutorial for tomorrows post.

This first card is one I seen online somewhere so I show cased it, I believe that orginal card had different colors on it and definately a different saying. The card itself is whisper white, then layered on that is real red, and the new Sending Love Speciality DSP in the mini catalog. The ovals were cut using a cutting tool from creative memories. The smaller oval is on dimensionals and sponged around the edges. I added some hearts to the bottom layer and some to the top layer and added my ribbon before attaching the ovals. The stamp is from Well Scripted stamp set also out of the mini catalog.

My next card is from the Vintage Vogue set also in the mini catalog. And the background is from the big catalog, French Filagree. My colors are kraft and ruby red papers. Chocolate chip, and ruby red inks. My bow/knot is held on w/a glue dot. The small F is up on dimesionals.

This card is also from the Vintage Vogue set, a card I showcased from someone - their colors were close to cocoa and green. My colors are Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, and Vanilla papers. Pretty in pink, and Choc. chip inks. I used the masking technique. My ribbon is attached w/a glue dot, and the F part is up on dimensionals. I used the new punches out of the mini catalog and the vanilla piece has pretty in pink ink rolled on w/the Very Vintage wheel.

Next up is Tote-ally Tess...I was at dance waiting in the hallway a few weeks ago w/the girls and came up with this card. It was a great way to occupy my time while they were in dancing. My papers are black, real red, and whisper white. My inks are staz-on black and Tess is colored in w/markers. My ribbon/knot is held on w/a glue dot. My saying is punched out and on dimensionals.

And finally a card I made while at a make and take during an upline meeting. My upline Joyce Feracco created this card for us to make. The colors are orange, garden green, chocolate chip, ruby red, and vanilla. The garden green piece and the leaves are ran through the big shot and embossed. The pumpkin is sponged around the edges. It is actually a very cute card, I just think this pictured did no justice for it - I will find the card and take a new one for you all.

Goodbye 2009 - Hello 2010

This past year has been so crazy that 2010 has got to be a better one. I wanted to get where I was posting a project or card everyday but life got in the way of that and I actually have not gotten the chance to stamp in apx. 2 months. Making a long story short we had our house listed for sale at the beginning of the year, were in the process of a sale when the purchasers backed out last minute and by last minute it was exactly that. We had the whole house packed up and ready to move when they backed out so we had to unpack the house, but have not relisted and are not sure now that we will. There are so many more details that go with it but I am not going to bore you with them but it was such a horrible experience for us. Following that my grandpa had several heart attacks and was in and out of the hospital, he is doing better now - in between all this him and my grandma got into a car accident, my grandma had to have surgery. Again, they are home and doing good now. My other grandma found out she has cancer, and had to have surgery - so I have been taking her to all her appointments and was down at U of M every day for a few weeks while she was down there, she starts chemo next week but is doing good now. She actually looks better than before her surgery. I have been so busy with all of this and so much more that I have neglected my stamping, projects and you - for that I am sorry. This year I have many goals but my top three include being able to make and post more projects on my blog along with making some tutorials for you all. I wish for all of you to have a great year this year.

Just a quick hello!

Hi Everyone,
I am finishing up the scrapbook/purse tutorial but can't post it until I get back to Michigan - we are hanging in Myrtle Beach this week. Pictures to also come when we get back to Michigan. My son Brayden learned to swim today on his own and Bryce let go a couple times, I think by the end of the week he will be on his own also. I also have finished up a video tutorial of the puffy box/cd box and will be posting that as soon as I figure out how to upload it.
Just wanted to get in a quick hello to everyone letting you know where things were at.

Remarkable Retreat in Pennsylvania!!!!

It has been a really long time since I have posted anything, I have been so darn busy this summer with work, the kids, vacations, and getting ready to move to a bigger house that I have not had much time at all. I did make time to take a weekend away with my friend and sideline Ann. We spent the weekend in Pennsylvania last weekend for a Remarkable weekend away. Our upline Janet Wakeland was the host of this fabulous weekend away and she did one heck of a job - I can't wait to go again in April. I have several pictures to share with you right now and will post some more in a few days - I have almost 300 pictures to go through. Be sure to check them all out and I will also have a tutorial for the purse/scrapbook page at the end of this post in the next week or so. First off is a picture of the Christmas project I made to swap, it is just a wooden plaque that I painted white, added some rub-ons and some die cuts made with the big shot. I also recieved a gift in return but have not gotten to the picture of that yet, it will come later.

Here is the bag I put my christmas gift in.

The desk clerk was so darn kind to make a copy of some directions for me that I wanted to make a quick little thank you gift for him and run it back up so here is what I whipped up at 3am the first night (that was when he made the copys for me). There are leaves around the whole box.

Here we are the Michigan girls - on the left is Dinne Gill, Ann Finton, myself, and Mary Swan. Ann and I drove out together, Dinne went out alone and Mary made a vacation out of it traveling out before the retreat with her darling husband Bill.

I also whipped up this little gift for my upline Mary Swan - she is a great gal and I am so thankful to know her.

The theme for the weekend was Jungle Safari so it was quite interesting when Ann and I were leaving Monday to wait on a Tiger before leaving the hotel. This is the hotel's garbage person in his Tiger truck.

When I arrived back home, my children were so happy to see me. I gave them the hats and glasses we recieved at Saturday nights dinner - they have had such a bal with them. First up is my 2yr son Bryce (he never wears glasses on his eyes)

Next up is my 2yr son Brayden who usually wears his glasses correct but decided to follow Bryce this time. How darn cute are they.

Finally is the purse/scrapbook page that I took for the share table, I had 4 pages of email addresses left with it wanting directions so I am in the process of making a step-by-step tutorial for this project - the post will be coming soon. Here is the folded up outside look of them.

And here is the inside open view of them - I didn't include the outside open view but you get the idea. Be sure to check back often as I will be starting to post more and more and I am going to start offering classes soon.

Never forget (GCA50)

This card was made for Ann's challenge this week. You definately want to check out her site, she is giving away an awesome prize as this is week 50 for her challenges. Awesome job Ann. Her challenge this week included three things - one a tree topper card, two using orange, yellow, green and white and lastly NO flowers. My base is only orange, then summer sun and finally old olive. I wrinkle my old olive and put some old olive ink on it to try and make it look a little more like grass. I then used the small leaf from Lovely as a tree stamp set, stamping it in summer sun, only orange, and old olive to make it look like it was fall with leaves on the ground. My main stamp and saying this week are not Stampin' Up, they are from a site I found online called Viva Las Vegasstamps! I was searching around for a set to remember 9-1-1 and this was one of two that I found. I used summer sun, and only orange to try and make it look as the sun was setting on the skyline. It is hard to tell in the picture but the bottom portion of the stamp is sponged with old olive for the grass part. My skyline stamp is up on dimensionals, along with my saying of never forget, never surrender! Be sure to hop over to Ann's blog and join in on the fun.

Musical Expressions

I actually made this card awhile for a swap at one of my Stampin' Up! meetings. I used the stamp set Music Expressions, My base is always artichoke, then chocolate chip stamped with the background stamp set En Francis'. I then used only orange, and craft. The craft is stamped with the image and heat embossed, then colored in with stampin' markers, the violin is again stamped on very vanilla, heat embossed and colored with a blender pen and put on dimensionals. The ribbon is very vanilla. I really like this stamp set, and needed to make sure and use it sometime - and need to use it again.
